Croatian RFP for fighter aircraft expected by the end of July

08 July 2019

The Croatian parliament's defence committee on 3 July agreed to the launch of a new fighter procurement process. This was followed the next day by the Croatian government's creation of a 16-member interdepartmental committee charged with launching and running the procurement of a multirole fighter aircraft for the Croatian Air Force.

Croatia's Council for Defence had recommended the resumption of the fighter procurement process on 28 June.

During the parliamentary defence committee session on 3 July, Defence Minister Damir Krstičević set a notional timetable for the relaunched fighter procurement. First, the interdepartmental committee is to release a formal request for proposals (RFP) before the end of July 2019.
