Northrop Grumman has been awarded a contract to perform the technical upgrade of UH-1Y, AH-1Z, and UH-60V helicopter mission computers for the United States and Bahrain, the company announced on 1 July in a press release.
The indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) award, valued up to USD104 million, covers delivery of production, retrofit, and spare units for the Defense Logistics Agency, the US Marine Corps (USMC), and the government of Bahrain under the Foreign Military Sales Act. Under the contract, work is set to conclude in 2023.
According to the company, the system is designed to integrate advanced weapons, mission, and video processing capabilities into a high-performance airborne computer capable of driving multifunction displays.
