The Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced on 27 June that it had signed contracts for the acquisition of defence equipment worth over RUB1 trillion (USD15.8 billion).
Sukhoi, a subsidiary of United Aircraft Corporation, will deliver 76 Sukhoi Su-57 fifth-generation multirole combat aircraft armed with advanced internally mounted air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles acquired from the Tactical Missiles Corporation (KTRV) under new contracts signed at the 2019 Army defence exhibition, which was held in Kubinka near Moscow from 25 to 30 June.
The MoD also ordered 98 Mil Mi-28NM combat helicopters to be delivered through 2028 and 10 Mil Mi-8AMTSh-VN special utility rotorcraft to be delivered in 2021–22.
