The US Department of Defense (DoD) announced on 18 June plans to provide USD250 million in security co-operation funds for additional training, equipment, and advisory efforts for the Ukrainian armed forces.
The new funds will provide equipment to support ongoing training programmes and operational requirements, including capabilities to enhance maritime situational awareness and operations to increase support for Ukraine's navy and naval infantry and the defensive capacity and survivability of Ukraine's land and special forces.
The equipment to be supplied includes sniper rifles, rocket-propelled grenade launchers and counter-artillery radar, and for command and control, electronic warfare detection and secure communications, military mobility, night vision, and military medical treatment.
