British countermeasure and sensor manufacturer Chemring released results for the first half of its financial year on 5 June, showing a 5% rise in revenue in 2019.
Sales in the six months to 30 April totalled GBP139.3 million (USD177.5 million), while underlying operating profit rose by a similar margin year on year to GBP12.1 million.
The company again highlighted the impact that manufacturing issues were having on its Countermeasures & Energetics sector. The company's UK manufacturing capacity remains impaired following an explosion at its Chemring Countermeasures facility in August 2018 that killed one employee and injured another.
Chemring Countermeasures & Energetics reported revenue of GBP85.5 million in the first half of the year, down 6% from 2018.
