Patria takes Belgium Engine Centre from AIM

06 June 2019

Finnish defence and aerospace group Patria has acquired Belgian aircraft propulsion maintenance operation Belgium Engine Centre (BEC) from AIM Norway.

The acquisition comes after Patria acquired Norwegian aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) specialist AIM Norway in partnership with Kongsberg of Norway in December 2018.

AIM Norway acquired BEC in 2016. It was formerly the Pratt & Whitney Belgium Engine Centre and continued to provide overhaul services relating to military jet engines including the F100 engine, which powers F-15 and F-16 aircraft.

BEC operates from Herstal in Belgium and has 90 employees. It will be rebranded as Patria Belgium Engine Centre.
