Thales has announced the acquisition of US-based artificial intelligence company Psibernetic.
The French headquartered group said the purchase will allow it to create “certifiable AI” with “explainable AI processes for applications in safety-critical environments”.
Terms of the acquisition – announced on 6 June - were not disclosed
Previous projects by Psibernetix included the creation of the Alpha artificial intelligence system for the control of unmanned combat air vehicles in combat missions within simulated environments: an effort funded by the US Air Force Research Laboratory.
