French imaging and surveillance technology firm Sofradir announced on 4 June that it had merged with subsidiary ULIS to form a new company, Lynred.
Lynred chairman Jean-François Delepau said that the new organisation "gives us more punching weight in [research and development] and increased visibility within the IR ecosystem. Thanks to the commitment of our employees in forming Lynred and increased support from our partners, we will be able to offer new attractive solutions to our customers."
Lynred is working to advance developments of next generation infrared detectors with the investment of EUR150 million (USD168.8 million) over the next five years towards its participation in the French government's Nano 2022 project, which is part of a wider European initiative on nanoelectronics.
