John Cockerill signs defence agreements with Spanish firms

03 June 2019

Belgium-based turret and systems specialist John Cockerill Defense has signed memorandums of understanding with two Spanish groups to work on defence joint ventures in Spain.

One is with Abengoa, best known for its involvement in the energy and water supply sectors, but which has also worked in the development of electronic systems for military vehicles and on the AIP (Air Independent propulsion System) for the Spanish Navy’s new S-80 class submarines.

The other is with Star Defence Logistics & Engineering (SDLE), a leading Spanish parts supplier and exporter of military equipment and services to more than 25 countries.

Both accords were signed at the FEINDEF military fair in Madrid on 31 May.
