The Palestinian Authority᾿s (PA᾿s) National Security Forces (NSF) have received a second batch of five Al-Jawad armoured vehicles, Palestinian security sources told Jane’s on 22 May.
Based on the Ford F-550 chassis, the Al-Jawad is made by Jordan Light Vehicle Manufacturing LLC (JLVM), which is an affiliate of the KADDB Investment Group in partnership with the Jankel Group of the UK.
“These batches of Al-Jawad [vehicles] are an upgraded model of the previous ones we received in December 2016, as each vehicle can carry 12 personnel and includes new advanced technologies,” a senior PA military commander told Jane’s .
The sources said the EU financed the vehicles and their transfer to the West Bank was approved by Israel to help the NSF cope with a deteriorating security situation.
