Turkey’s STM delivering Kargu loitering munitions to TSK

21 May 2019

Turkish state-owned defence technology, engineering, and trade company STM has delivered close to 150 Kargu rotary-wing loitering munitions to the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) so far and has also operated more than 20 Kargus together in a swarm, according to Murat İkinci, general manager of STM.

STM has been working on improving the capabilities of the Kargu system through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) as well as increasing the diversity of explosives it can use, said İkinci in an interview with the state-owned Anatolia news agency on 20 May.

The Kargus were demonstrated at the 2019 IDEF exhibition in Istanbul, which took place between 30 April and 3 May.
