15 May 2019

The Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency (NDMA) published a request for information on 13 May for a 12.7 mm rapid-fire weapon system. The agency is seeking a heavy machine gun (HMG) in 12.7×99 mm calibre using the M9 link, with a minimum rate of fire of 1,000 rds/min and effective range of 1,800 m.

The HMG is requested to be mounted on an open turret on a land-based vehicle and to be equipped with a NATO Accessory Rail mount for optical sights.

The weapon must automatically eject an unfired cartridge when it misfires, continue to cycle, and continue to fire without a stoppage.
