The Indian Army (IA) has expressed concern to the Ministry of Defence (MoD) over what it described as "faulty and poor quality" assorted ammunition supplied by the state-owned Ordnance Factory Board (OFB).

Official sources told Jane's that the IA raised the alarm over the quality of varied OFB-supplied munitions for 125 mm guns of the T-72M1, T-90S/MS, and Arjun main battle tanks (MBTs), as well as 155 mm, 130 mm, and 105 mm artillery rounds, in a recent letter sent to Defence Production Secretary Ajay Kumar.

In its 15 page-long letter the IA claims to have "halted" practice-firings of its Bofors 40 mm L-70 air-defence guns.
