The new US Air Force (USAF) science and technology (S&T) strategy for 2030 and beyond focuses on prototyping and experimentation to advance emerging weapon systems and warfighting concepts.
A focused set of key research programmes, called vanguards, will be limited in time and scope to achieve focus and urgency. While emphasising advance technology, they can synergise applied research, selected basic research, and experimentation and prototyping to drive forward innovative capabilities.
