Taiwan’s Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) has posted record revenue and profit on the back of an upswing in domestic military aerospace programmes, the company has announced.
AIDC said on 12 April that its revenue in 2018 reached TWD28.2 billion (USD914 million) and that net profit was TWD2.1 billion. These represent year-on-year increases of 2.5% and 24% respectively.
AIDC said the growth was supported by its projects to develop an advanced jet trainer (AJT) aircraft and upgrade Lockheed Martin F-16 fighter aircraft for the Republic of China Air Force (RoCAF).
The AJT project features AIDC’s development of the XAT-5 ‘Blue Magpie’ platform.
