Saab announced on 11 April that it has been awarded a SEK168 million (USD18.1 million) contract to supply the Australian Army (AA) with ammunition for the Carl-Gustaf M4 84 mm multipurpose weapon systems ordered by the service in September 2018.
"We are happy to see that the Australian Army keeps investing in the Carl-Gustaf system .… The wide range of variations of Carl-Gustaf ammunition brings a true tactical flexibility to the user," Görgen Johansson, head of Saab's Dynamics business area, said in a statement.
The ammunition is expected to be delivered to the AA in 2020 when the service is also set to receive an undisclosed number of Carl-Gustaf M4s.
