Elbit Systems of America has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Harris' night vision business for USD350 million in cash.
The sale is a condition of the planned merger between Harris and L3 Technologies who announced in October 2018 that they were pursuing an all-stock merger to combine the assets of both companies into what will be L3 Harris Technologies. Harris announced in January 2019 that it would look to the divestment of its night vision interests to assuage US Department of Justice concerns regarding antitrust issues in relation to the merger.
