Syria said Israel carried out an airstrike against targets in the Shaykh Najjar industrial zone northeast of Aleppo city on 27 March.
The government-controlled Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) cited a military source as saying the airstrike took place at 1100 h local time. Syrian air defences managed to shoot down some of the missiles that were launched, but some material damage was inflicted.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the Israeli strike targeted Iranian weapon depots located between Shaykh Najjar and Aleppo’s international airport.
Multiple secondary explosions could be seen in social media footage purportedly showing the strikes.
