At least 13 civilians were killed and 3 others injured in an airstrike carried out by international military forces in Afghanistan’s northern Kunduz province on the night of 23–24 March, according to preliminary findings of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).
In a 25 March statement, the UN mission said that “initial fact-finding indicates that 10 of those killed were children", who were part of an extended family displaced by fighting elsewhere in the country.
The incident took place in the Telawka neighbourhood in the outskirts of Kunduz City during operations conducted by pro-government forces against Taliban forces in the area, according to by UNAMA.
