French defence and aerospace company Thales announced on 21 March that it had opened an ‘Engineering Competence Centre’ in Romanian capital Bucharest.
The new facility, which will serve all of the company’s markets, will contribute to its goal of employing more than 1,000 people in Romania by 2021.
“Thales already has a solid footprint in Romania as a supplier to the Romanian Armed Forces for over 40 years and developing industrial operations since 2007,” Silviu Agapi, director of Thales’ activities in Romania, said. “The group has invested significantly in equipment and software when developing this Engineering Competence Centre, but also for professional training and expertise sharing.”
