QinetiQ North America has been selected by the US Department of Defense (DoD) to fulfil the US Army’s requirement for small unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) under the Common Robotic System (Individual) (CRS[I]) programme.
The seven-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) contract is valued at up to USD164.5 million and includes a low-rate initial production (LRIP) phase estimated at USD20 million over one to two years. It will be followed by a series of annual production releases.
QinetiQ has been awarded an initial order of USD4 million. However, the US Army said in a statement that the contract’s value could be as high as USD400 million from follow-on awards and options.
