Embraer reports 28% fall in defence sales

15 March 2019

Brazilian business and military aircraft producer Embraer revealed its annual results for 2018 on 14 March, showing a significantly weaker performance than in fiscal year 2017 (FY 2017).

Revenue for the full year was just under USD5.1 billion, a fall of 15.5% year on year. The company also registered an adjusted net loss of USD54 million, compared with net income of USD313 million in 2017.

Aside from its Services & Support segment, Embraer's reduced revenue performance was reflected company-wide. In its Defence & Security business, sales declined by 39.5%, to USD612 million.

The company made no revisions to its preliminary guidance for 2019, initially revealed in January.
