Italian defence and aerospace manufacturer Leonardo published results from its 2018 financial year on 13 March, with improvements posted across a range of financial metrics.
The company generated sales of EUR12.4 billion (USD19.0 billion) in 2018, a rise of 4.3% year on year. The company also realised a much stronger expansion of net profit, rising from EUR279 million in 2017 to EUR510 million.
Last year's growth was not evenly distributed across Leonardo's activities, however. The swiftest expansion was seen in its second largest business line by revenue, Helicopters, which increased its annual revenue by 10.8%, to EUR3,810 million, while taking EUR6,208 million in new orders, almost double the previous year.
