The Department of National Defence of the Government of Canada recently confirmed to Jane's the receipt of all 500 Tactical Armoured Patrol Vehicles (TAPVs) under order. The last vehicle was delivered in December 2018.
The government of Canada had in June 2012 awarded Textron Systems Canada Inc two contracts: one for USD603.4 million covering the acquisition of 500 vehicles and a second valued at USD105.4 million to cover in-service support for the fleet for five years following delivery of the last vehicle. Initial deliveries then started in August 2016 after reliability testing was completed in April 2016.
The TAPV will conduct reconnaissance and surveillance, security, command and control, and armoured transport of personnel and equipment.
