The US Air Force (USAF) is holding a pitch event on 6 and 7 March for small businesses and start-ups, aimed at providing the service access to new technologies that could be funded under a USD40 million allocation from the government.
The USAF has invited 59 companies to the event, during which it will review submissions relating to air, space, and cyberspace, focusing on battlefield air operation technology, digital technologies, and command, control, communications, intelligence and networking.
The service is preparing to rapidly invest in some of these developments under an initiative to speed up contracting, modelling this method on commercial pitching competitions that serve to quickly introduce new capabilities.
