The UAE’s Defence and Security Development Fund (DSDF) announced the launch of a competition to develop new intellectual property (IP) in the country on 20 February.
Working alongside the Sandooq Al Watan fund and Advanced PyroTechnics (APT) under the UAE’s Centurium Challenge, the competition will involve the disbursement of up to AED5 million (USD1.36 million) through the programme to develop IP in the field of pyrotechnics.
Abdulla Naser Al Jaabari, chief officer and head of the DSDF, said, “This contest invites researchers, specialists, and university students to form teams to develop specialised solutions that will support the defence and security industry.”
