Brazil orders three H135 helos

The Brazilian Navy has ordered three Airbus Helicopters H135 twin-engine helicopters, the company announced on 21 February.

The helicopters will be operated by the 1st General Purpose Helicopter Squadron (HU-1) located at São Pedro da Aldeia Naval Air Base, and will be used for a range of missions including special operations, cargo and personnel transport, naval inspection, search and rescue, and medical evacuation.

As noted by the manufacturer, two of these aircraft will be equipped with aeromedical kits. Other equipment will include a cargo hook, an emergency flotation system, a winch, and weather radar.
