IDEX 2019: UAE’s ELTS command and control system goes operational

21 February 2019

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has reached an initial operational capability (IOC) with its Emirates Command and Control System (ECCS) Land Tactical System (ELTS), for which Harris Corporation was awarded a two-year, USD189 million contract in September 2016 following a demonstration and a design phase. Subcontractors on the contract included Saab, Leonardo DRS, and Systematic.

The IOC phase equipped a single brigade of the UAE army, which Jane's understands is the Al Dhafra Brigade.
