Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) and L3 Technologies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on 18 February to expand collaboration between the two companies.
Under the agreement, the two organisations will explore possible collaboration on projects in the electro-optic/infra-red (EO/IR) and special mission systems areas, with the development of Saudi industrial capabilities in these areas.
Core areas of focus will include equipment sustainment, training, manufacturing, and research and development, with the two companies to establish a centre in Saudi Arabia to design and implement EO/IR and special mission systems equipment.
“Establishing this relationship with SAMI is an important part of L3’s international growth strategy,” said Stephen O’Bryan, L3’s senior vice-president and chief global business development officer.
