Finland’s Patria has provided Jane’s with an update on the NEMO Container 120 mm mortar system, following on from extensive testing in the Baltic Sea last year.
According to Kari Reunamäki, Patria’s vice-president for Weapon Systems, the design of the system is now locked down following on from at-sea, on-the-move firing testing.
Previous firing tests had involved firing from a static position, as well as from a truck, and on-the-move from a truck. While the system is entirely modular – based on a standard 20 ft long International Standards Organisation (ISO) shipping container and can be mounted on many truck systems, the truck-mounted tests involved a Finnish Sisu truck.
