ZALA Aero, a subsidiary of Rostec's Kalashnikov Group, unveiled its new Kub-UAV loitering munition at the IDEX defence show being held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from 17 to 21 February.
ZALA Aero displayed a 1:2 scale model of the weapon, the real version of which is 1,210 mm long with a 950 mm wingspan. Powered by an electric motor, it can carry a 3 kg payload, has a speed of 80-130 km/h, and an endurance of 30 minutes.
After being launched from a rail, the Kub-UAV can carry out an attack against pre-set co-ordinates or its operator can use the electro-optical system to guide it to a target, a source from ZALA Aero told Jane's.
