19 February 2019

BAE Systems and UAE maintenance and support firm AMMROC signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on 18 February to collaborate on aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO).

Through the MOU, the two companies will begin exploring possible projects to collaborate on, ranging from testing and repair services to manufacturing, support, and product installation.

Areas identified include BAE Systems’ avionics, communications, display, sensor, and survivability systems, most notably on the United Arab Emirates Air Force’s (UAEAF’s) fleet of Lockheed Martin F-16E/F Desert Falcon aircraft.

Paul Markwardt, BAE Systems vice-president of Survivability, Targeting, and Sensing Solutions at BAE Systems’ Electronic Systems business said that the MOU will move the discussions on manufacturing and technology transfer to the next stage, with further agreements expected to be signed by the end of 2019.
