At yesterday’s daily UAE General Headquarters press briefing, a contract with Raytheon was announced covering the supply of Patriot launcher systems, worth approximately AED5.73 billion (US$1.56 billion).
This follows an earlier AED1.3 billion (US$350 million) contract awarded to Raytheon, announced on Sunday, that covered the missiles themselves. The UAE is already an existing Patriot operator. During Monday’s press briefing, GHQ announced 24 deals worth a combined total of more than AED7 billion (US$1.9 billion).
Of these, 18 have been signed with UAE companies for a total of AED1.15 billion (US$300 million).
