Building on its successful Software Defined Radio (SDR) products, Codan Communications (Stand 01-C07) has developed the Sentry- H6110-MP, said to be the smallest and lightest tactical manpack on the market.

The new flexible and configurable manpack weighs less than 5kg but delivers a powerful 30W RF power output and up to 55 hours of battery life, providing uncompromised, secure voice and data communications while on the move.

The 6110-MP SDR platform is built with the latest-generation, high-performance digital signal processor (DSP), field-programmable gate array (FPGA) and system on chip (SoC) technology, ensuring tomorrow’s capabilities today. The platform is fully software upgradable and is supported by Codan with software releases that add new features and system capabilities, meaning the radio product will be able to adapt to evolving user needs at minimum cost. Its second-generation Digital Voice, coupled with AES-256 encryption, provides superior and secure voice quality and data, even in the most challenging channel conditions.

The secure interoperability capability ensures 6110-MP systems can be configured to operate seamlessly across HF networks using disparate encryption methods. Data application suites such as Codan SprintChat and SprintNet provide peer-to-peer text chat, email and file transfer as well as email and phone SMS gateways. The intuitive icon-based menu system and easy to read colour screen layout, coupled with an ability to switch between multiple native languages (including data entry modes), ensures the focus can be more on the mission and less on complex radio operations and training.
