Low-level violence between rival supporters likely ahead of Senegalese presidential election; opposition unlikely to unite against incumbent

12 February 2019

A supporter of Senegal's ruling United in Hope (Benno Bokk Yakaar: BBY) coalition was stabbed to death by backers of presidential candidate Issa Sall yesterday (11 February 2019) in the eastern town of Tambacounda, during the most serious of several acts of violence ahead of the 24 February election.
