Indian manufacturing group Lohia has acquired Israeli company Light & Strong Limited, a producer of composites for aerospace and military applications, it was announced 11 February.
Lohia said the acquisition – the value and terms of which were not disclosed – will position the group to bid for defence offset contracts. Lohia is currently mainly focused on commercial manufacturing sectors.
According to Lohia, Light & Strong Limited, which specialises in aerospace and military carbon fibre and glass fibre composite component production, is an existing supplier to the Indian Ministry of Defence (MoD).
The Israeli firm also lists its customers as including the Israeli MoD, defence companies, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) manufacturers, and producers of military systems including optics and simulation devices.
