Russian Ministry of Defence to order 13 more Su-57s for VKS in 2020

The second contract for 13 additional Sukhoi Su-57 fifth-generation multirole combat aircraft for Russia's Aerospace Forces (VKS) will be signed in 2020, a Russian aerospace industry source has told Jane's . "Delivery of the 13 Su-57s that will be contracted in 2020 for the VKS is scheduled for 2025," he said.

Regarding the first contract for delivery of the first two Su-57s to the service in 2019 and 2020, respectively, the source continued, "Both aircraft will be powered by the Lyulka AL-41F1 improved turbofan engine, also designated as Product 117 [Izdeliye 117] or the first-tier engine."

Some fighters from the second batch will be powered by the so-called Product 30 (Izdeliye 30) or second-tier, improved turbofan engine, according to the source.
