German defence exports fall following end to Saudi exports

The value of German defence goods exported by the country in 2018 was almost 23% lower year-on-year, according to information provided to Alliance '90/Green party Bundestag member Omid Nouripour by its Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).
The response to Nouripour's enquiry, which was reported in local press on 17 January, revealed that Germany approved EUR4.82 billion (USD5.48 billion) in defence exports in 2018, down from EUR6.24 billion in 2017, and the lowest level since 2014.
