Brazilian Army to retrofit initial H225Ms

Helibras is to retrofit five of the Brazilian Army's expected 16 Airbus Helicopters H225M helicopters to bring the fleet to a common operational configuration, a service official told Jane's on 16 January.

Work will include adding a digital map; cabling for the STAR FLIR Systems STAR Safire III electro-optic/infrared (EO/IR) sensor; Saab's integrated defensive aid suite featuring BOP-L chaff and flare dispensers, RWS-300 radar warning receivers (RWR), LWS-310 laser warning receivers (LWR), and MAW-300 missile approach warning systems (MAWS); Collins Aerospace Talon RT-8200 programmable digital communication systems; engine exhaust infrared suppressors; plus ballistic protection, air-conditioning units, and inertial navigation systems.
