The US Navy (USN) operational concept of “dynamic deployment” – conducting deployments in a completely untraditional manner – has proved successful and will be repeated, said the USN Master Chief Petty Officer (MCPON) Russell Smith.
“The mission was completed for the first round,” MCPON Smith said on 10 January during a Center for Strategic and International Studies Maritime Security Dialogue event. “We’re going to be doing that again.”
The USN Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group (HSTCSG) completed the USN’s first dynamic deployment in the latter half of 2018.
