Reliability issues continue to delay the start of full-rate production of the Hawkei Protected Mobility Vehicle - Light for the Australian Army, Defence Secretary Greg Moriarty has disclosed.
In a statement included in an 18 December report by the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) on major defence projects, Moriarty said that senior management within the Department of Defence (DoD) is intensively managing the Land 121 Phase 4 programme to resolve the issues outstanding from a reliability demonstration test that was completed on 19 November.
"Defence has requested that [manufacturer] Thales provides a formal plan to resolve the decision to commence the Production Reliability Acceptance Test.
