Cole Engineering Services Incorporated (CESI) has completed development of its course of action (CoA) analysis decision support tool called Operationally-Focused Simulation (OpSim) by integrating it with Systematic's SitaWare Headquarters (HQ) command-and-control (C2) software. SitaWare HQ was selected by the US Army as the core mission command software for developing its command post computer environment.
OpSim supports the generation, assessment, comparison, and selection of the best CoA, leading to the development of an operational plan. John "Buck" Surdu, senior scientist at CESI, told Jane's that the aim was to build a simulation and integrate it with the mission command system in such a way that it was transparent to the user.
