Security operations exercises looking at how to counter hybrid warfare threats will be carried out by the British Army's strike experimentation organisations in 2019 as part of ongoing efforts to prepare for the formation of the service's two Strike Brigades and component Strike-roled subordinate units.
The ability of the Strike-roled units to operate against so-called hybrid threats, involving psychological warfare, special operations, and political destabilisation operations, is one of the formations' four roles that have been set out publicly for the first time in a British Army briefing document seen by Jane's .
The briefing, which include a report by strike experimentation officers working in 1 Armoured Infantry Brigade over the past year, says the British Army envisages the strike units operating as part of the service's divisional manoeuvre concept across a spectrum of conflict.
