MASA’s SWORD 6.12 training system integrates new CBRN module
Giles Ebbutt, Orlando - Jane's International Defence Review
07 December 2018
MASA Group launched the latest version of its SWORD (surveillance and warning, obstacle ranging, and display) constructive simulation for command and staff training at the 2018 Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation, and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) in Orlando in November.
The latest release, version 6.12, integrates a new chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) module that Marc de Fritsch, MASA managing director, told Jane’s was originally developed at the request of the French Army and is already being delivered. Other customers will receive it as part of routine software updates.
The module enables users to model CBRN plumes and their effects during exercises, facilitating the training of officers and the development of adapted responses.
