Airbus, New Zealand sign unmanned systems accord

02 November 2018

The New Zealand government has signed an agreement with Airbus to collaborate on unmanned systems and related technologies.

The government said in a statement that the letter of intent (LOI) will support the testing in New Zealand of unmanned aircraft technologies and collaboration on developing "space data technologies and applications".

The LOI was signed in late October by Airbus and the New Zealand government's Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment (MBIE).

The portfolio's minister, Megan Woods, said that through the LOI the two parties have committed to collaborate on developing solutions to spur innovation and help support New Zealand capability.
