The Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) has taken delivery of its seventh and eighth H225M (previously known as EC725) multirole utility helicopters, manufacturer Airbus Helicopters announced in a 24 October statement.

Part of a contract signed in 2016, the new platforms will join the RTAF's existing fleet of six H225Ms that are used primarily for combat search-and-rescue, search-and-rescue, and troop transport operations.

Since 2012 the RTAF has placed orders for 12 H225Ms under its ongoing fleet modernisation programme, with Airbus Helicopters announcing that the remaining four platforms, which were ordered in September, are set to be handed over by 2021.

The RTAF received the initial four H225Ms in 2015, with two more platforms delivered the following year.
