China has inaugurated a new alliance to promote collaboration across its military research, development, and manufacturing enterprises.
The National Defence Science and Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance was launched in mid-October and recently publicised by the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC).
Citing a report from the China Ship News agency, CSSC said the defence alliance was launched by executives from CSSC and the Chinese Academy of Engineering and will involve representatives from the state-owned defence-industrial base, private-sector military manufacturers, research institutes, national laboratories, and investment institutions.
It added that the alliance is aimed at creating “high-level co-operation and exchanges, and a collaborative innovation platform”.
