The first of 10 MH-60R Seahawk helicopters purchased for the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) arrived at Naval Station Mayport, Florida, on 2 October to support aircrew training with the US Navy (USN).
Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 40, based at Mayport, will provide training for RSNF pilots and aircrew over a three-year period.
Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is delivering the 10 MH-60R aircraft to the RSNF under a government-to-government Foreign Military Sales agreement signed in 2015. The ceremonial handover of the first aircraft was held in Owego, New York, on 13 September this year.
A total of five RSNF MH-60Rs will join HSM 40 to support training for more than 250 pilots, aircrew, and maintainers.
