L3 Technologies has been awarded a contract from the US Army for the next-generation Wescam sensor suite, the company announced on 8 October at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) exhibition held in Washington, DC.
The next-generation Wescam MX-10D electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) and laser designator sensor suite was awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract for USD454 million for five years, with the option for an additional five years.
Describing the advanced intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) data-collection capabilities designed for the air-ground manoeuvre teams, L3’s chairman and CEO, Christopher Kubasik, said, “L3’s Wescam imaging and targeting turrets deliver the highest-precision situational awareness to our customers to help them overcome emerging regional and global threats.”
