Iran transfers ship to Konarak base

The Islamic Republic of Iran Navy (IRIN) vessel Konarak is now based in the city after which it is named, the Iranian media reported on 8 October.

Described in the media reports as a missile ship, Konarak is one of eight Hendijan-class tenders that were built for the IRIN in the Netherlands in 1988-1991. Additional Hendijans have been built in Iran and some have been armed with Noor anti-ship missiles.
